My name is Mark Burrows, I've been photographing people for as long as I can remember. It's one of my favorite things to do.
I'm a Colorado native, I grew up in the Conifer/Evergreen area so I'm quite accustomed to living in the mountains. And because of that I think, I love living on the Western Slope, but it's really Carbondale that stole my heart with it's great people.
I have two children, my younger gender-fluid child lives in Oregon, which is great as I now have an excellent reason to travel to that beautiful state. And my older daughter lives in Gunnison where she is pursuing her double majors in Biology and Art. They both grew up with me here in Carbondale where I played the part of a single dad.
One of my many hobbies is beekeeping, I received a masters certificate in beekeeping from the University of Montana in the summer of 2018, something I'm very proud of. My goal is to keep bees as chemical free as possible, helping them thrive in an area where I can enjoy watching them work every day.
I am an avid traveller, This past year (2018) alone I spent time in Phoenix (twice), Beverly Hills, Houston, Telluride, Park City, Oregon, Utah, Idaho, Amsterdam, Berlin and Brussels. Good thing I like it. Telluride was really different because I ended up moving there for a job for two months, Amsterdam was amazing because I went there for an International bee-keeping conference, which was amazing. And in Phoenix I attended a photography conference that love.
If it's different, I love to do it. I spend way too much time in front of my computer learning what's new in photography and beekeeping, which thankfully keeps me away from the television.
I live in downtown Carbondale in a large house with friends instead of children and spend as much time as I can with them, making all of the ethnic foods I love to eat. If you see me working too hard, invite me on a river trip, I'll probably say yes and bring the beer. If you like what you see, give me a call and I bet we can make you look fabulous. I look forward to meeting you.
